Alvah “Joe” Brewer, age 75 of Monroe, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at the River Oaks Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. He was born November 19, 1943 in Rogers, Kentucky the son of Henry Clay and Ethel (Hurt) Brewer. He retired from Middletown Ford where he worked as an auto body repairman. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena (Miller) Brewer; daughter, June (husband, Justin) Wolfe; Randy Rudd (son-in-law), two grandchildren, Megan Wolfe and Chelsea Rudd; his siblings, Margaret Sparks, Denny (wife, Joan) Brewer and Kenneth (wife, Sue) Sparks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Rudd; his sister Marie Spencer, brothers James V. Brewer, H.C. Brewer, and Wayne Brewer, as well as 11 other siblings and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors Chapel, Campton, KY. Visitation 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, funeral following at 2:00 pm with Rev. Adam Hays. Burial following in The Brewer Cemetery, Tarr Ridge Rd., Rogers, KY. With arrangements entrusted to Porter and Son Funeral Directors of Campton, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Research or to Hospice of the Miami Valley.
