Julia "Julie" Poisal Taylor
March 16, 1957 - August 31, 2019

Julia "Julie" Poisal Taylor, 62, of Charlotte passed away August 31, 2019 after a three-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She died in the company of close friends and family at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Julie’s husband, Richard, said “she was not only my partner in life and best friend, but also one of the bravest people I ever knew. Julie always proved herself courageous and steadfast in the face of adversity and fought ‘the good fight’ against her illness to the very end.” A 35-year employee of Belk’s flagship store in Southpark Shopping Center, she treasured her friendships and business relationships with her fellow Belk associates and her Estée Lauder customers, including many who asked for her by name on each visit to the store.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Richard Allen Taylor of Charlotte; mother, Carmela Josephine “Carolyn” Lesser of Lake Wylie, SC; father, Robert Lee Poisal of Indianapolis; stepson, Michael Allen Taylor and his daughter, Marisa Taylor, of Fort Mill, SC; stepdaughter Kathleen Marie Taylor of Raleigh; brothers, Richard Anthony Poisal and his wife Kyong of Radcliff, KY, and Robert Louis Poisal and his fiancé Tonya Thomas of Indianapolis; sister, Luann Marie Poisal Brown and her husband David Brown of Indian Land, NC; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Pert "Bill" Lesser and brother Daniel Allen Poisal.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 11:15 am, Friday, September 6, 2019 at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. A Funeral Prayer Service will follow at 11:30 am. Julie will be buried privately in Evergreen -"A Quiet Place.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, Building Fund, 503 N Main St, Belmont, NC 28012 or to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont is serving the Taylor family.
