Memorial services will be held on (Please note date) Monday, September 9, 2019, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Duane is survived by his sons Mark (Melesa) Brown and Jeff (Belinda) Brown both of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Jason Brown, Ryan Brown, Rachel Nye and Kelsey Beneke, great-grandchildren Tayton Brown, Kolton Brown, Tyler Nye, Karlie Beneke and Lane Beneke, brothers Tom Brown of Fort Dodge, Eugene Brown of Webster City and Dave Brown of Janesville, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mariam (Scharf) Brown and brother, Gerald Brown.
Duane Henry Brown was born June 22, 1930 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High. In May of 1951 he enlisted in the United States Army and served until his Honorable discharge in 1953. Duane worked for Tobin Packing Company and Hormel Meat Packing Plant until retiring in 1980. He then worked for Eddie's Greenhouse for 20 years.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to family discretion.
