BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- Brian Moncur passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004 in a farming accident.
Brian was born in Burley, the son of Marion and Betty Moncur of Heyburn.
Brian attended school at Heyburn and graduated from Minico High School. Following graduation, he married Susan Egbert, the daughter of Vernon and Mildred Egbert of Paul, on Oct. 14, 1967.
After attending college at BYU, Brian was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969. After serving a tour of duty in VietNam, Brian was honorably discharged in 1972.
Brian and Susan lived in the Paul area where they farmed and began their family.
They relocated to the Bakersfield area in 1978, and have resided there until the present. Brian was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and served in many capacities over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; a daughter Jennette; four sons, Jaron, Marcus, Justin, Matthew and their respective families including five grandchildren; a brother, Stan; two sisters, Carolee and Connie; and Susan's parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at the Fruitvale L.D.S. Ward building, 5500 Fruitvale Avenue, Bakersfield, Calif.
A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services at the church, and from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Hillcrest Memorial funeral home in Bakersfield.
Burial will be with military rights at the Bakersfield cemetery.
