Ronald Crocker, 96, of Mount Union died Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Sunrise Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winfield.
Ronald Lorrain Crocker was born on what is now a century farm north of Mt. Union, IA to Lloyd and Edna (Schenk) Crocker on March 11, 1923.
He received his education at Mt. Union and also at Iowa Wesleyan College, belonging to Lambda Chi Alpha. On December 31, 1944, Ronald married his wife of 68 ½ years, Mildred Maxine Conard at the Mt. Union Methodist Church and later became a member there. They were blessed with three daughters.
Mr. Crocker was a World War II Veteran, being discharged as a Sgt. after serving in Washington D.C. as a military police officer. He was a former AmVets member. After his service he was a crop and livestock farmer with his wife.
He enjoyed rodeos and riding horses with his family and grandkids and participated in the 100-mile trail ride in Illinois for 15 years. Ronald always looked forward to watching his daughters and grandchildren play sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son-in-law, Bob Finke, grandson, David Finke, granddaughter, Julie Vosmek and sister, Wanda Helphrey.
