son of William F. MCKIM (1877–1904) & Eliza May ROSE (1876–1900); often went by his middle name. He was only 2 when his mother died of consumption, and 7 when his father died of cancer of the bowels. Estel and his two sisters were raised by their grandparents, Rev. Henry & Sarah McKim.
