KELLEY, Thelma 1917-2008 Thelma Kelley, a resident of Portland, died on April 26, 2008, in Portland. She was 90 years of age. Thelma was born the daughter of George and Mary (Coleman) England on May 5, 1917, on the family farm in Buchanan County, Virginia. She was a twin and one of 10 children. In 1942, Thelma moved to Oregon settling in Portland. She worked for 29 years for Jantzen Knitting Mill. She retired in 1982 from the position of mail room supervisor. In 1954, she married Earl "Mac" McIntosh in Clackamas. They were married for 38 years. He preceded her in death. On Sept. 19, 1992, Thelma married Arnold Kelley in Redmond. They resided together in Portland. Thelma was a member of the First Christian Church, the Eagles Lodge and a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Victory Lodge. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling and playing pinochle. She also enjoyed collecting fine china and antique glass. Thelma was a hard worker who loved her family. Thelma is survived by her husband, Arnold of Portland; daughter, Ina "Jeannie" (husband, Stephen) Merchant of Los Altos Hills, Calif.; stepdaughter, Susan (husband, Bob) Foster of Calgary, Canada; sister, Allie Paradis of Sherwood; grandchildren, Holly Casper (husband, Jim Knowles), Eric Merchant, Stacy (husband, Rick) Kimble and Michelle Foster; and great-grandchildren, Kaila Casper, Alex Casper, Katie Knowles and Drew Kimble. A funeral service will be on Friday, May 2, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in memory of Thelma to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Association, 1400 SW 5th Ave., Suite 530, Portland, OR 97201.
