Melville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Michael John Napoli, Sr. at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Melville; visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until time of service in the church. Fr. Stephen Ugwu will conduct the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Napoli, age 71, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019.

Mr. Napoli served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Heath Fontenot and wife, Tina of Denver, CO, Michael John Napoli II of Opelousas and Charles Ryan Napoli of Carencro; brothers, Dean Joseph Napoli and wife, Wendy of Baton Rouge and Mitchell Anthony of Krotz Springs; sisters, Cynthia Napoli Tassin of Lafayette, Margaret Evelyn Napoli of Metairie, Peggy Napoli Chamberlain and husband, Jerry of Washington, Robin Josephine Napoli Bowman and husband, Frank Columbus, MO; 3 grandchildren, Emma Grace Napoli, Carter Rose Napoli and Timothy Ryan Napoli; a host of nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Maggie Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell Napoli, Sr. and Elsie David Napoli.
