Charlotte Hill Hutchison, 98, died June 28, 2007, in her home. She was born in Portsmouth April 4, 1909, the youngest child of John C. Hill and Lottie B. Hill. She was the widow of Peter C. Hutchison. Mrs. Hutchison was a graduate of Maury High School and St. Mary's College in Raleigh, N.C. She became a librarian, teacher and church secretary. She resided in Havana, Cuba and San Pedro De Macoris, Dominican Republic for many years before retiring to Norfolk. Charlotte was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Norfolk.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and brothers, Chandler H. Hill and Borroughs R. Hill.
Survivors include her son, Peter C. Hutchison Jr. and his wife Margaret; daughter, Charlotte B. Glassburner; grandsons, Thomas R. Glassburner and his wife Donna and Peter C. Glassburner; and great-granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Glassburner.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk by the Rev. F. Scott Hennessy. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or to Union Mission Ministries. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
