SEARSPORT — Parker S. Clements, 84, passed away on Aug. 11, 2019, at Harbor Hill. He was born Sept. 28, 1934, the son of Smith and Lucy (Parker) Clements.

He graduated from Searsport High School in 1953 and Farmington State Teacher’s College in 1957. Like his mother, Lucy, he became a public school teacher and taught for 25 years. While serving in the U.S. Army, he was part of a traveling musical band that entertained the American troops abroad. Throughout his life he shared his musical talents. He was a member and organist for Searsport Methodist Church and the Granite Grange 192 of Searsport. Parker also belonged to the Waldo County Republican Committee and was a trustee for Greenlawn Cemetery Association in Swanville.

Parker was blessed with a good sense of humor and a fun-loving nature. His family and friends will sadly miss him.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Lucille Clements Sr. of Prospect and two nieces and two nephews; and his cousin, Rita Stone, of North Searsport. The family would like to acknowledge several special friends: Gary Lowe of Hampden, Barbara Carr of Searsport and Preston Grendell of Frankfort.

At Parker’s request, there will be no funeral. The burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Swanville at a later date. If you wish to make a donation in Parker’s memory, one could be sent to Searsport United Methodist Church or North Searsport United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.

The family of Parker S. Clements would like to thank the doctors and nurses who provided such wonderful care at Waldo County General Hospital and Harbor Hill Center.

Also, the family would like to thank his friends for the kind deeds, visits and cards that lifted Parker’s spirits. (Riposta Funeral Home)
