Resident of Oak Bluffs, MA. Daughter of the late Meredith Sheldon Fisher and Ruth (Madeiras) Fisher. She graduated from Oak Bluffs High School in 1956. While in high school, she was Queen of the Prom and a cheerleader for the boys’ basketball team. It was at one of those basketball games that she met William G. Anderson (Bill), who was serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at the Peaked Hill radar station in Chilmark. They were engaged in the fall of 1956 and married on December 29, 1956. She is survived by her husband, William G. Anderson; two sisters, Sandra Thornton of Portland, OR and Linda Campbell of Bass River; four children, Dr. Kristen L. Anderson and her partner, Eric Wilds of St. Pete Beach, FL, William M. Anderson and his wife, Doreen Anderson of Oak Bluffs, Katherine Farrissey and her husband, Andrew J. Farrissey, Jr. of Oak Bluffs, and Gretchen Anderson and her partner, Benjamin Hall, Jr. of West Tisbury; eight grandchildren, Matt Stamas, David Stamas and his wife, Erica Stamas, Andrew W. Farrissey, Colleen Hickey and her husband, Patrick Hickey, Ian Thompson, William M. Anderson, Jr., Astoria Hall, and Olympia Hall; two newborn great-grandchildren, Jace Stamas and Liam Hickey. She was predeceased by a grandson, William Farrissey of Oak Bluffs, earlier this year.
