Jessie Fred Jacobs, 88, of Corsicana, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019, with his family by his side. Burial will be at Hamilton Beeman Cemetery.

Jessie Fred was born on May 27, 1931, in Corsicana, Texas, to the late Arvel Lee and Myrtle Elizabeth (Jergins) Jacobs, and was the eldest of 10 children.

He was highly regarded in his field of work in water utilities for the Cities of Corsicana, Richardson, Cleburne, and Mesquite, Texas, for over 35 years.

Jessie was a member of the National Guard serving as a Platoon Sergeant and First Lieutenant which included active duty in Fort Polk, LA, during the Berlin Wall crisis.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lourine, in 2006; second wife of nine years, Helen G. Perry Jacobs, in 2017; brothers, Jerry Jacobs and Jake Jacobs; and sisters, Marie Chapman and Melba Helms.

Survivors include his sons, Wesley Earl Jacobs and his wife, Della, and Lowell Wayde Jacobs and his wife, Penny; daughter, Freeda Jean Miers and her husband, Ed; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Bobby Jacobs, Ray Jacobs, and David Jacobs; sisters, Eleanor Greer and Sandra Hughes; other relatives and many friends.
