Carolyn was born in Jasper, AL, and was a 1958 graduate of Fairfield High School, Fairfield, AL, where she was Salutatorian of her graduating class. She was retired from Alabama Power Company and Southern Company Services after a combined total of 39 years of service with these sister companies.

She served as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO of Southern Company Services (SCS) from 1983 – 1994. She was a member of the SCS Retirees and, also, the Alabama Power Company Energizers retirement groups. She was currently a member of Crestway Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class, and also a member of the Unity Sunday School Class at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Ruhama Baptist Church and previously, a member of both Fairfield Baptist and West End Baptist Churches. She served as a volunteer at BMC-Montclair Hospital, at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, and at the Alabama Animal Adoption Society. She said that her most rewarding experiences in life were helping needy people and animals. She was also an organ donor.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, George David Langston and Maude Lee Wallace; brother, Erskine Durwood Langston; and sister, George Ann Morgan; beloved husbands, Lee C. Williams (1973-1991) and Dewey Yeager (1994-2016).

She is survived by nephew, David Langston and his financee', Tina Paio, Tina's daughter, MeiLing Wong of West Palm Beach, FL; niece and husband, Jennifer and Tim Garnto; great nephew, Joshua Garnto; and brother-in-law, Jim Morgan, all of the Nashville, TN area; stepdaughter and husband, Martha (Williams) and Lin Burdette of Pass Christian, MS; step son-in-law, Charles Hines of the state of Virginia; sisters, Peggy Murphy and Nettie Williams, both of Birmingham AL. She is also survived by beloved Wallace, Langston, Williams and Yeager cousins; also neighbors and treasured lifetime friends: Helen Earnest, Betty Franks, Ann Bush, Mary Crawford, Marie King, Don Olvey, Scott Pruitt, Wilmer, Dean and Debbie Florence, "Friends to the End" Birthday Group, Fairfield High School Graduating Class of 1958, and employees of Riverview Animal Clinic.

Funeral will be held at Elmwood Chapel with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. James S. Wilson will officiate at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.
