Adolf Broker of Brewster died Friday, October 27 in Carmel. He was 89. Born May 1, 1911 in Quakenbruck, Germany, son of the late Gottlieb & Karoline (Viehe) Borschenbroker, Mr. Broker came to the US in 1929 and settled in Yonkers, NY. He served with the Army during WWII and married Margaretta Heiss on December 21, 1948 in Hastings-on-Hudson. They lived together in Shrub Oak for many years. Mr. Broker was a Millwright for General Motors in Tarrytown for 47 years before retiring in 1976. Mrs. Broker predeceased him in 1976 and his daughter Marie Broker also predeceased him. Mr. Broker moved to Brewster nineyears ago and is survived by two sons: Walter of Brewster and John of Boston; and two grandchildren: Marie & Laura Broker of Brewster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster. Interment will follow in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
