Beverly Phillips, 81, of Mitchell, SD died Monday, August 12, 2019 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Friday, August 16, 2019 at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.

Beverly Ann Phillips was born on March 22, 1938 to Earl and Hattie (Lewis) Gyles in Alexandria, SD. She grew up and attended school in Alexandria, graduating in 1956. She worked at Mitchell Produce and candled eggs. She sold Avon, and enjoyed reading, fishing, shopping, playing slot machines, and playing and listening to band music. She worked as a drug and alcohol counselor at Gamble Street Adjustment Training Center.

Beverly was a member of the Ladies Firemen’s Auxiliary and was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne “Bud” Phillips; son, David (Deb) Phillips, Whitewood, SD; two daughters, Judy Mackey and Jody Phillips-Olson, both of Sturgis; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters; a son-in-law, Dan Olson; and two grandchildren, Chris Phillips and Claire Mackey.
