Sarah “Sue” (Smith) Bailey, 84, of Frankfort, IN, passed away on August 12, 2019 at Wesley Manor. She was born on November 11, 1934 in Granite, OK to Bedford Harlan and Lovie Lee (Wright) Smith. She married Rev. Wilbur C. Bailey on October 8, 1954 in Fairdale, KY and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2010.
Sarah was a 1953 graduate of Southern High School. A pastor’s wife, she and her husband started their ministry in 1960 at Paoli, IN, pastoring in various locations before retiring to Frankfort in 2005. She was a member of the Frankfort Bible Holiness Church. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, especially playing for the residents at Clinton House, gardening and talking to her best friend on the phone.
Sarah is survived by one daughter; two daughter-in-laws; one sister; two sister-in-laws; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Mark and Dale Bailey; son-in-law; Robert S. Proctor; stepgrandson; Calvin S. Proctor; and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral celebration will be at 11 AM on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Frankfort Bible Holiness Church, 1947 W. Barner St., Frankfort, with visitation there from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
