KOLONGOWSKI, CASIMIR WALTER
Casimir (Casey) W. Kolongowski, 61, of Southampton, New Jersey, joined family in Heaven on June 27, 2007 with his beloved wife by his side.
Casey was predeceased by parents Sophia and Thomas Kolongowski, and brothers Thomas and Edwin Kolongowski. Casey had a wonderful 'Lost in the Fifties' upbringing in the 'Swampoodle' section of Riverside (NJ). He attended Holy Cross High School (NJ), where he was a standout football player. He graduated from Trenton State College (NJ) in 1968 with a degree in education.
Casey taught industrial arts at Cherry Hill East High School (NJ). In 1986, he transferred to Lenape High School (NJ) and met the love of his life. 'Mr. K' ended a thirty-five year teaching career in 2004. He coached football at Cherry Hill East and in the Lightweight Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Casey had a zest for life that he exhibited in racing motorcycles, Garvey boats (Snoopy G-100) and in area stock car racing (#25). Casey was the first Street Stock Champion at East Windsor Speedway (NJ). He also raced at Bridgeport Speeedway (NJ) and Wall Stadium (NJ). Casey and Sandy had a life filled with family and friends, renovating their farm house, attending car shows, and traveling. He enjoyed being Dad to Kevin Casey was a true Renaissance man with interests in music, reading, restoring cars and toy trains. The memory of his kindess will only be overshadowed by the memory of his sense of humor. Casey will be remembered for his courage, generosity, jokes, warm smile and the twinkle in his blue eyes.
Casey was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, GoodGuys, National Street Rod Association, Austin Bantam Society, Atlantic Coast Old-Timers, EZRods, and Train Collectors of American.
Casey leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife and best friend, Sandra (Bazar). He was proud Dad to Kevin (Julie) Bazar of Mt. Ephraim, NJ and son-in-law to Jack and the late Kimiko Fujiki. He is survived by aunts Irene Czarzasty, Annette Mushinski and Eleanor Yankee, sisters-in-law Jane Kolongowski and Sarah Kolongowski Merwarth, nephews Thomas Kolongowski and Kevin (Jennifer) Kolongowski, nieces Kathleen (Sean) Fallon, Catherine Kolongowski, Lisa (Fred) Pacheco, Ann (Matthew) DiAddezio, Marcia Kolongowski and beloved cousins. He will be missed by furry kids Sophie, Molly and Granddog Tess.
Family and friends are invited to join the family for a viewing from 7-9 p.m. on July 2, and from 8-9 a.m. on July 3. both at the MOUNT LAUREL HOMES FOR FUNERALS, 212 Ark Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ. Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, 502 New Jersey Ave., Riverside, NJ. Entombment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
