Betty J. Lacey, age 91, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 4th, 2019, at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. Born in Pavilion, on April 17th, 1928, the daughter of the late Dewey and Mildred Flint Buckley.
Betty was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Wyoming. Strong in her faith, Betty was a terrific cook and loved to garden. She was very talented at drawing, painting and was a great dancer. She loved music, was a great conversationalist and friend to all. She was devoted to her family and lived life without dwelling on the past. She had concern for others and was dedicated to her extensive family especially her grandchildren. Betty was a positive woman who encouraged others around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lacey; infant daughter, Linda; her brothers, John, Alvin, and Donald Buckley; her sisters, Wanda Andrews and Mary Zeller; son-in-law, Michael Hunt.
Survivors include her four sons, Bob (Cindy) Lacey, Jim (Martha) Lacey, Tom (Shirley) Lacey, and Mike (Karen) Lacey all of Wyoming; her daughter, Nancy Hunt of Pavilion; a brother, Larry (Donna) Buckley of Castile; two sisters, Janice (Jess) Roberts of Centerville, Waneta Krause of Castile; her sister in-law, Hon Buckley of Pavilion; brother in-law, Dan Andrews of Gainesville; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer Straub, Colleen Lacey-Smith, Brenda Lacey, Jessica (Matt) Hume, Richard (Lacey) Lacey, Katie Lacey (Lendle Tucker), Megan Grawe (Matt Sheehan), Scott Lacey, Christa (John) Milillo, Erin (Steve) Bice, Melanie (Robert) Goulet, Mindy Harrington, Nicole (Andy) Poh, Matthew (Beth) Hunt; 26 great-grandchildren, Olivia Straub, Jayden Smith, Londyn, Kapri, Sienna Hume, Makenzie, Kenadie, Natalie, Sadie, Zoie Lacey, Riley and Gavin Donahue, Camden Lacey, Ayanna Tucker, Ethan and Peyton Grawe, Remy Lacey, Alyssa and Annika Milillo, Tessa, Avery, and Liam Bice, Jake, Maddie, and Luke Goulet, and Mason Poh; and her beloved dog, Rascal Lacey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends of Betty Lacey may call on Thursday, August 8th, at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 North Main Street Warsaw from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Pavilion at 10am, on Friday, August 9th, 2019, with Father Innocent Diala as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
