Ruth Coe was born in Middlefield, CT on June 3, 1786, the youngest child of Nathan Coe and Abigail Parsons. Ruth Coe was a descendant of Robert Coe, and she is documented in the published genealogy "Robert Coe, Puritan- His Ancestors and Descendants 1340-1910" by J. Gardner Bartlett, published in 1911. Her marriage to James Tucker is also documented there.

Ruth Coe married James Willis Tucker September 23, 1806. They had 13 children, the last of whom lived only 11 hours. Ruth died the same day, March 29, 1830.
