Volkerding, Donald Leroy, 96, of Morrow, died Friday August 2, 2019. Born March 26, 1923 in Morrow to William and Amelia (nee: Giehls) Volkerding, he was a 1941 graduate of Morrow High School. A US Army veteran, he was a member of the Morrow United Methodist Church, the Morrow Masonic lodge and the Scottish Rite. He was a lifelong farmer who owned and operated Southview Farms. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred Louise Volkerding, his brothers, Richard and Louis, and his sister, Anna Mitchell. Survivors include one son, James (Teresa) Volkerding of Morrow, one daughter, Judy (Mike) Pidgeon of Pleasant Plain, five grandchildren, Chad Pidgeon, Amy Nurre, Brett Pidgeon, Sarah Volkerding, and Megan Conner, and seven great grandchildren, Jack, Grant, and Will Nurre and, Ava, Chad, Coebe, and Raelyn Pidgeon. Visitation, Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the Morrow United Methodist Church. A Masonic Service will be held at 730 PM. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11 AM also at the church.
