MITCHELL, Anna Elizabeth “Sis” (nee: Volkerding), 87, of Morrow, died Friday April 20, 2007 at her home. Born December 26, 1919 in Morrow to William and Amelia (nee: Giehls) Volkerding, she was a dedicated wife and mother. Sis was a 1940 graduate of Morrow High School and was a very active member of the Morrow Presbyterian Church serving as an elder and deacon and teaching Sunday School. A member of the Morrow OES, she had helped in the Morrow Elementary Library for many years. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilbur Mitchell, son in law, James “Jay” Carter and two brothers, Richard and Louis Volkerding, survivors include two daughters, Karen Carter of Mason and Dian (Michael) Kemp of Blanchester, one brother, Donald Volkerding of Morrow, four grandchildren, Steven (JaLane Ehling) Kemp, Brian Kemp, Kyle (Angela) Carter, and Katherine Carter, and one great grandchild, Colin Avry Carter. Visitation, Tuesday April 24, from 6-9 PM at Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, Morrow. Funeral service, Wednesday April 25, 11 AM at Grace Community Presbyterian Church. Interment follows in Morrow Cemetery. Memorials requested to Grace Community Presbyterian Church Sunday School or to Hospice of Cincinnati
