Kenneth L. Franks, 60, of 165 Glenway Drive died April 27, 1986, in Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Services are 12:30 p.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation is 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Franks was the son of Charles Irvin and Alayne Chandler Franks. He was a senior partner in the law firm of Heidelberg, Woodliff and Franks, with which he had been associated for 30 years. He was chairman of the Mississippi-Alabama division of Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association.
Mr. Franks served in World War II, receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law and past president of the Mississippi Junior Bar and the Capital City Petroleum Club. He was a member of the Country Club of Jackson, the University Club and the Annandale Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ann Hobbs Franks; daughter, Miss Sara Hope Franks of Washington, D.C.; sister, Mrs. Charles Cooper of Bear River, Novia [sic] Scotia; brother, Chandler Franks of Greenville, S.C.; nephew, Mark Kenneth Franks of Greenville, S.C.; and three nieces.
