She was born April 13, 1844, in Vermillion County, daughter of Thomas and Phoebe Oliphant.
Surviving are two daughters, Gertrude Ballah, at home, and Mrs. Lena Murrin, Veedersburg, a son, John Edgar Ballah, Danville, Illinois, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday at the residence, the Rev. B.M. Winte, Methodist church pastor of Perrysville, officiating. Burial was made in the Mound cemetery at Covington.” – August 13, 1936
