Whitten, 76, of Grayson died Friday in St. Francis Medical Center, Monroe.
He was a retired redwood timber faller. He was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church. He was a lifelong resident of Caldwell Parish. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Whitten of Grayson; one son, Gordon E. Whitten Jr. of Grayson; one daughter, Glenda Wyant of La Grange, Texas; two brothers, R.C. Whitten of Monroe and Trowley Whitten of Grayson; one sister, Clellon Blue of Vicksburg, Miss.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harold Blue Jr., Godfrey Whitten, Jeff Wyant, Ronnie Wyant, Curtis Childress and Joe Kranvek Jr.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services today in the funeral home.
