Mildred Draper Reeves was born in Pulaski, Va., then spent a little while in Utah with her brother and his wife.

She loved her family and friends. She had a strong heart, and battled cancer for eight years. She always said her lifeline was her daughter, Shannon Renea Price, who spoke to her, telling her it was OK to go be with the lord and her husband, Edward Randolph Reeves; her mother and father, Barbara Draper and Ernest Draper; and sisters Sadie Tolbert, Madeline Dalton and Geneva Lundy.

She will be missed by her children and spouses, Patricia Ellen Campbell and James Allen Fellows, Tony Edward Reeves and Hope Reeves, Jerry Wayne Reeves, Sandra Jean Stachowski and Kenneth Stachowski, Buddy Ray Reeves and Bonnie Jean Adkins, Shannon Renea Price and Patrick Wayne Price, Buddy Ray Wenner and Megan Swanson; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters; and two brothers.

She loved her caregivers, Amy Lewis and Shameka Webb, like they were her children. She also had a special family on her game heyday. She will be missed and loved by everyone whose heart she touched. Shannon Renea Price, who she raised from an infant and was by her side until her journey ended and will continue living in the home she was raised in, will never forget her home-cooked meals and loving, kind words. I love you, Mommy, from all of us.

The viewing will be 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Stevens Funeral Home for immediate family, and 6 to 8 p.m. today for friends and relatives. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Stevens Funeral Home, followed by a burial service, preached by her most favorite chaplain through hospice, Robbie Vance. He touched her life, even though it was very brief. She loved him dearly.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
