Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from the residence for George Evans, age 64, who died at his home in Marquez early Thursday morning. Burial was in the Marquez Cemetery with the Riddle Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Spruel Evans and Albert Evans, both of Houston and three daughters, Mrs. G.K. Cessna, Marquez; Mrs. J.A. Glenn, Waco; and Mrs. E.T. Baker of Houston. One brother and five sisters also survive.
Mr. Evans was a pioneer resident of Leon County. He was born there September 15, 1883, and had lived i Marquez all his life.
