Joseph G. Cosner, 67, of Boonville, passed away at Boone Hospital Center on Friday, Dec. 23, 2011.

Visitation for Mr. Cosner will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville on Wednesday evening, Dec. 28th, beginning at five o'clock with a funeral service following at 7:30 P.M.

Joseph Garrett Cosner was born Jan. 25, 1944, in Portsmouth, VA the son of Joseph Elwood Cosner and Dorothy Helen Garrett. Mr. Cosner had worked with the Johnson County Air Commission (JCAC) until his retirement in 2006. He moved toBoonville in 2008 in order to be closer to his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was well known as a Mr. Fixit who would bend over backward to help folks. He enjoyed anything to do with outdoors and nature as well as music of all kinds, especially country. He enjoyed the company of his little friend, Ammie, his dog.

Mr. Cosner is survived by his children; David (Jessica) Cosner, Kim Goxho (Florand) and Helen Roberts (Kyle) all of Boonville. He is also survived by his best friend, Bob Osborn. His sisters, Dorothy Register (Ronnie) of Lake City, FL, Cheryl Sigmund (Bud) of Council Bluffs, IA, Karen Bunch of Smithfield, VA and Jeannene Midgette (Edward) of Omaha, NE and his loving grandchildren, Joseph and Daniel Cary, Riley Blank, Alyson Blank, McKenzie Cosner and one on the way, Bryce Roberts, all of Boonville, also survive.

Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia Foundation.
