Phyllis Elaine Ford, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, was born on July 30, 1928 in Owosso, Michigan. She was the only child to J. Howard and Celesta Ginther. She graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Michigan. She met her wonderful husband, J.R. (Dick) Ford on a blind date and enjoyed 59 years of marriage.

Before retiring Phyllis & J.R. decided that they would do some traveling which included seven cruises, and parts of Canada and Mexico. Upon Phyllis's retirement from Oklahoma Historical Society and J.R.'s retirement from FAA they took off in a 40 foot 5th wheel, where they spent fourteen years traveling the United States. During these travels J.R. and Phyllis also spent 6 1/2 years as Activity Directors at various RV Parks in Arizona.

Phyllis was a Girl Scout and a Girl Scout Leader with 25 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, all kinds of cross-stitching and golf, which included being a Craft Instructor.

Phyllis is survived by daughters Madeline McMurry of Livingston, TX; Mary Sue Reaves of Midwest City, OK; Lu Ann Conly of Tulsa, OK; and Joy Burns of Del City, OK; along with eleven grandchildren, twenty- two great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
