Thomas Cobley was born in Coal Creek, CO. his parents were Thomas Cobley Sr. and Annie Morris Cobley. His gt grandfather was a coal miner in Wales as was his grandfather and father. Thomas worked in the coal mines in CO. until 1923 when he moved his family to Southern CA. and worked for Shell Oil Co. He married Cora Rake on Nov. 6, 1911 and they had four children. Clarence, Edmond, Catherine and Lillian. Edmond "Chub" Cobley was my dad and I have a few wonderful memories of my grandfather Thomas. My favorite is me sitting on his lap in their house in Bellflower, CA. and him teaching me how to roll my own cigarette. I was about seven or eight at the time.
