Celebration of Life Service for James Whitfield “Jim Whit” Rinehart 91, is set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors.
Burial will be in the New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
James died May 17, 2017 at Magnolia Regional Health Center, Corinth, MS.
He was born May 12, 1926 in Rienzi, Alcorn Co., MS, to the late Mauldin Rinehart and Mae (Hudson) Rinehart.
He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.
James served in the US Navy during WWII.
He was retired farmer and also the Alcorn Co. Third District.
Jim Whit was a man who didn’t have any bad word to say about anyone, he was dedicated to God, family and his country.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maxine Clifton and Elizabeth Mayrene Atkins.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Mary Opal (Kinchen) Knight-Rinehart, daughter of Hobart G. Kinchen and Ida M. (Horton) Kinchen, married December 21, 1985 in McNairy County, TN; nephews, Steven Atkins, William Tom (Enrica James) Atkins; great nephew, Bill Atkins: stepchildren, Sherry (Perry) Dickey, Gary (Robbie) Knight; step grandchildren Chris Knight, Josh (Toni) Dickey, Jordan (Jessica) Dickey; host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers Gary Knight, Perry Dickey, Bert Mills, Larry Hudson, Steven Atkins, Chris Knight, Josh Dickey, Jordan Dickey, Phillip Brawner.
