An Old Resident Dies
OBITUARY.
Margaret Morning (sic) Nutter, nee Allen, was born near Spencer, Owen county (sic), Indiana, November 3, 1849, and peacefully departed this life on January 16, 1914, at 928 N. Balleview Ave. Hastings, Nebraska, aged 64 years, 2 months and 13 days. Mrs. Nutter was married to Robert William Nutter of Martinsville, Indiana, February 20, 1872, with whom she came to Nebraska in 1880. To this union were born three daughters and one son. The son, Edgar Roy, passed away in infancy. The daughters, Mrs. Nora Jett of Kansas City, Kans., Mrs. Carolina Laeger of Hastings, and Miss Anna also of Hastings, and four grand children survive.
Mr. Nutter preceded his wife to the glory world on December 30, 1902.
Mrs. Nutter was converted at the age of 17 years and was sanctified wholly in Rev. John Hatkeld's meeting at Rose Creek, Kansas, in 1890. She lived a devoted, quiet, peaceful life, and was steadfast in her faith in God to the end. The Saviour's presence was greatly manifested during her long and painful sickness. The angels of the Lord appeared to her at different times and it was an inspiration to hear her talk, for she was conscious to the time of her departure. Among her last words were, "There is a crown of righteousness laid up for me," but owing to weakness was unable to finish the verse. Her strong affections, righteous judgment and godly counsel will be greatly missed in the future by her children, grand chidlren (sic) and friends. She did much in carrying the Gospel of salvation and holiness to many hearts by her continual self-sacrificing life. She has gone to reap the reward of the faithful. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them"
