I think he was likely born about 1740 in the Beaufort, S. C. area and died after 1783 in Florida. He was the brother of William Shaw and manager of Col. John Stuart's 1800 acre indigo plantation on Lady's Island, near Beaufort, S. C.
A british loyalist banished to east Florida (Pensacola?) in 1777. Found on a loyalist list of 1783.
