She was a daughter of the late David Henry Bunch and Elizabeth Bee Bunch. Her mother's family was from Genoa,Italy. Bee's Ferry Road is named after her Grandfather who operated a ferry on the Ashley River. She was the widow of William Simmons Posey of Texas, a member of St Andrews Parish United Methodist Church in Charleston and an honor graduate of Summerville High School. During World War II, she was a private secretary to the Admiral at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. She has two sons and one daughter along with three grandchildren. At this time, she has living three sisters and one sister-in-law who lives in San Antonio, Texas.
