Dan graduated from American Fork High School and received a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Agricultural College (now known as Utah State University). He married Iva Lou “Ivy” Minor in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 24, 1949. After graduation, they moved to Seattle, Washington where Dan spent his career working at Boeing. Together, Dan and Ivy raised six children.
Dan loved playing tennis and other sports. He took All State in men’s tennis in his senior year in high school. He also played some tennis in college. Dan enjoyed his employment with Boeing as an aeronautical engineer, including the year he was assigned to work with NASA at Cape Kennedy, moving his family to Merritt Island, Florida.
After Dan’s divorce in 1979, he Dan changed careers and moved to Sun City, Arizona. Dan worked in real estate and managed properties for more than 30 years. And of course, he continued to play tennis! Dan was also passionate about helping people who were less fortunate and often provided individuals with financial assistance.
Dan’s family will always remember him as a kind, generous, gentle, humble, and loving person with an engaging sense of humor. They miss him terribly and look forward to the time when their family will be reunited.
