Dewey died Saturday, July 13, 2019 at his home.
He was born on April 16, 1939 in Tallahatchie County and was the son of the late Elmer Fletcher Moorman, Sr. and Allie Mae Huddleston Moorman.
Dewey worked as a factory production worker for several years. He enjoyed fishing for catfish at the spillway of Grenada Lake.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Myrtle Wilcox, Bernice “Bonnie” Pyburn, Ocean Hand, and Mildred Martin; and four brothers, Clifton Moorman, John Thomas Moorman, Arnold Moorman, and Elmer Fletcher “Joe“ Moorman, Jr..
He is survived by one daughter, Janet Grimes; two sisters, Jean Williamson and Mary Francis “Tootie“ Moorman Demouey; six brothers, W.T. Moorman, Mac Moorman, John Moorman, Paul Moorman, Stewart Moorman, and Raymond Moorman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Joyce.
