Sally passed on November 3, 2015 after a gallant 6-year long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gordon K Foster, son, Michael and his wife Marti, daughter-in-law Sandy, grandchildren Matthew and wife Stephanie, Meredith Rodriguez and husband Joe, Christopher and wife Robin, and Emily Anslinger and husband Bryce. She was blessed with great-grandchildren Brayden, Ella, Harrison, Kennedy, Madeline, and Brooks. She is also survived by her sister Irene Steele, and brother Bob Curran as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her son Bruce, sister Mary Means and parents, Robert and Yvonne Curran. A life-long resident of Bakersfield, Sally was a graduate of East Bakersfield High where she and Gordon met. Together they raised their two sons, setting the standards for hard work and community service. She was a member of the Kern Medical Auxiliary and the Guild House, serving as their President in '86-87. She was a puzzle master, a true card shark and never met a romantic book or movie she didn't like. No jigsaw was too complex, no crossword was too obscure. It was a good day even if she only won a nickel at bridge. She was an avid reader of romance novels and may have watched "Gone with the Wind" and "Laura" a hundred times. The family is grateful to the folks at Hoffman Hospice and Around the Clock Home Care for helping to make Mom's last days bearable. In lieu of flowers she asked that you remember her by donating to The Weill Child Guidance Foundation, 3628 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA. 93309. After a private service, the family invites you to a celebration of life at Stockdale Country Club, one of Sally's favorite places, at noon on Friday, November 6, 2015.
