Patricia M. Cortez, 53, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019. She was a lifetime resident of San Benito, known for wearing caps with winged curls on her hair. She was the very first female to start selling the San Benito News as a young teenager. Patricia loved to barbeque for her family and friends and was always the life of the party. She was very loving, caring, and always shared food with anyone she encountered. Her famous words were “Try it!”. Patricia tried her best to secure that her grandchildren were always safe and secure. She was also a home care provider with Medic Home Health Care.

She is preceded in death by her father, Santiago Cortez; grandmother, Carmen Meza; and brother, Luis Meza Jr.

Visitation will begin Thursday, July 25, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A chapel service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 26, 2019, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
