LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- Funeral was Saturday for Sidney G. Phillips, 79, former Utahn, who died Tuesday morning in a Los Angeles hospital of natural causes. Born April 20, 1882, at Millcreek, Salt Lake County, a son of John C. and Elizabeth Hewitson Phillips. He lived most of his life in Salt Lake Valley, moving to Los Angeles three years ago. Survivors: a brother, Ed Phillips, Pocatello, Idaho; and a stepdaughter, Madolyn, Los Angeles. Burial was at Los Angeles.
