After graduating from Russell High School in 1947, Georgia was the first in her family to attend college. There she earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Kansas, which led her to becoming a teacher. While attending KU, Georgia met the love of her life Guifford Moore. They were married in 1953 and later moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1959. Together they owned and operated a petroleum business for nearly 50 years.
Georgia was a smart, honest, kind-hearted woman with strong values. A farm girl at heart, Georgia showcased her green thumb talent in her yard and flower gardens. She had an immeasurable love of dachshunds and dogs in general. She encouraged and challenged everyone to make something amazing out of their lives. Georgia is a 50-year member of the Grand Canyon Chapter No. 4 - Order of the Eastern Star. During those years she served as Worthy Matron and was honored as the Grand Organist Emeritus of Arizona. Her talented piano playing allowed her to impact so many lives. Georgia is greatly missed and will be forever in the hearts of many friends, neighbors, and family members.
