Bill married Minerva “Kate” Catherine McKinney on March 3, 1872. He worked at the Pulliam Ranch in Uvalde with his family until late 1880s.
Bill and Kate had five children. Mary, Rozell, Jennie, William, Cora, and Joseph. They settled along the northern side of the Chisos Mountains (now in Big Bend National Park).

William Marshall Pulliam was laid to rest next to his daughter, Mary M. Pulliam-Roberts. There is no marker.
