LARA DANIELLE TURLEY CARDER, 27 of Milton, W.Va., passed away October 4, 2006, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was born June 21, 1979, in Huntington, a daughter of Mark and Carolyn Castleberry Turley of Milton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Carder and her paternal grandfather, Azel Turley. Also surviving are her son, Samuel Elisha Carder; one sister, Carissa Turley; two brothers, Daryl Turley and his wife Tricia and Joel Turley, all of Milton; paternal grandmother, Maxine Turley of Milton; maternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Castleberry of Athalia, Ohio; mother-in-law Abby Carder Garnes and her husband, Larry Garnes; brother-in-law Nathan Carder and his fianceé, Jessica Lindsay, Lara's best friend, and several uncles, aunts and cousins. A celebration of her life will be held at the River Cities Community Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2006, by Pastor Larry Greene of River Cities Community Church, and Pastor Allen Stewart of Milton Baptist Church, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Lara was a very loving, generous, compassionate Christian daughter, wife, mother and sister and member of the Milton Community. She graduated from Judson College in 2001. She witnessed to all of her belief in and relationship with Jesus Christ. She grew up as an active member of Milton Baptist Church and continued as an active member of River Cities Community Church.

Lara was shot and killed by her estranged husband, who then shot and killed himself. Jason Carder is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery. Lara was cremated and there are photos of her displayed with her ashes.
