Fletcher Taylor, Jr. was born in Nicholasville, Kentucky on May 9, 1924 to Flossie and Fletcher Taylor. He was the oldest son and the last surviving of twelve children to be blessed by this union.
Mr. Taylor’s spiritual journey began at First Baptist Church in his hometown and sustained him faithfully to the end of his journey. Family members, the community and personnel at Diversicare of Nicholasville where Mr. Taylor spent his last years all fondly recall his insistence to attend church every Sunday for as long as he was able to do so.

Affectionately known as “June,” Mr. Taylor spent his life living and working as a Farmer. First helping his father to farm their home place and later helping his aunt and uncle, James and Bertha Yates, with their farm.

He demonstrated on a daily basis what we now refer to as living in a walkable community because he walked where ever he needed to go. That lifestyle helped to sustain his overall well-being and enabled him to live to the age of ninety-five years young.

Mr. Taylor leaves to cherish his memories a loving sister-in-law Marynette Taylor, nieces and nephews including Janice, Rodney, Michael and Perry Wayne Taylor, Lee Nora ”Goodie” Smith, Billie Lou Underwood, Billie Jean Ayres (Clarence), William and Douglas Perkins, Florence Parker, Clifton, Charles and Pam Fields and Mary Alice Wilson (Rod). He is also survived by a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, many good friends and neighbors.
