Isaac, aka "Big Ike", the son of Wm and Hannah Forbes, his father dying and leaving Hannah widow with 6 children the fall after his birth. His mother dying when he was age 13. His uncle Peter and grandparents Caleb and Mary Forbes live nearby keep help Hannah and then the kids keep their farm.

widow, Hannah Forbes 35 PA, all the children born in IL:

1860 Marshall Co.: mother died, 2 sisters married, together are Ellen, Isaac, and Courtney. Grandparents and Uncle Peter still live next to them.

married Sarah, "Sally or Sallie" E. ORR, 1867, had son Wm. Olin, b. 1869 IL, who used his middle name and became a physician practicing in Hot Springs, AR, listed in city directory from 1903, which is how I.B. died in that place.

1879, Per Henry, IL newsprint, I. B. moved his family to Anthony, KS owning a grocery store although he was a cattleman. He was the Mayor of Anthony 1882-5.

1895 they are still in Anthony, KS
By 1900 he moves to Chicago, IL, Sallie and Olin with him, he is working as a stock buyer. From newspaper reports in Henry, IL, it seems he and Sallie live in Chicago until 1905 then move to live with son in Hot Springs, AR and are listed in that city directory until 1915, at that time father and son live at same address.

1910 Hot Springs, AR: surname misspelled Forbs: Isaac and Sarah live 240 Whittington Ave, they had only one child, no occupation. their son, Wm O is single, a physician/surgeon.

1916: Henry Republican, Apr-20-1916-p-2 obit:
Isaac B. Forbes, a resident of Hot Springs, AR, a double cousin of Isaac M. Forbes of Hopewell twsp, died Saturday, April 8. The deceased was 74 years of age, was born and raised in Hopewell twsp and with Emmett Hancock was engaged in the cattle business for some time in Marshall County. His wife and one son, (Wm) Olin B Forbes, a leading physician in Hot Springs, survives him.

Their son, Wm Olin: married betwn 1916-19

1920 Hot springs: Wm is married to Minnie Hays, b. 1874 TN, she was either a widow or divorcee with 2 dau. named Dorothy, 22 and Mary, 16; live at 102 Exchange St, which was her home with Dr. Eugene C. Hays, no children together, physician at St Joseph Catholic Hosp., he will die this Aug of Tuberculosis in Lincoln, NE Sanitarium.
I.B.'s wife nor mother, Sarah, is not in census nor city directory. Couple and son buried next to each other in Hollywood Cem.

1922 Sarah dies,

1930: Wm O's wife has not remarried, kept Forbes surname, lives at same address renting rooms to boarders. not found 1940 census-same info, but listed in city directory with ad for Beverly Apt Efficiency at same address as above until 1944 (she would be age 70). She is not buried with Wm and his parents, probably with first husband

Who was their daughter-in-law, Minnie Hay (s)?
marriage not found on familysearch, but in 1900 & 1910 Hot Springs, AR census:
she married Dr. Eugene C. Hay, 1895, born in D.C. 1865, son of Carson D, b. IL and Mary T., b. VA, they lived in IL until 1860 so the Forbes must have known the Hay's.
Eugene and Minnie had 2 dau:
Dorothy, July, 1897,
Mary, 1904,

they are listed in the Hot Springs City directory 1904-1915, living at 102 then 203 Exchange St. (Olin and Minnie live in her home) where he practiced out of his home as her first husband had.

She will keep Forbes surname until at least 1944 when she died or remarried, run a boarding home, many advertisements in Hot Springs newspaper, in 1921 her first mother-in-law, Mary T Hay, lives with her.
