She was one of 10 children. Hannah grew up in the hills of SW Pennsylvania.
In 1832 when Hannah was 20 her father Isaac moved the family to the good farm lands in Woodford Co, Illinois. All of her siblings even if they were married made the move from PA to IL. The opportunities the available good land gave were many and to good to miss.

In Sep 1831 the Forbes had come from NC and settled in nearby Hopewell twp of Marshall County.
William and Hannah had 6 children, Mary (Broaddus), Sarah (Broaddus), Ellen (Casey), Amanda (died young), Courtney (Trask) and Isaac (Big Ike).
In 1842 her husband died before his 33d birthday leaving Hannah a widow and with 5 children to raise. Sadly, in 1857 at a young age of 44 Hannah also passed.
