Aileen Ballew Vigna, 84, of Amarillo died Friday, May 10, 2002.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Chapel with the Rev. Clifton Mann, rector, and the Rev. William D. Nix Jr. officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.

Mrs. Vigna was a resident of Amarillo for 74 years and an active businesswoman for much of that time. She was a rare combination of strength and determination, grace and beauty.

For many years, she owned Aileen's Lingerie in Wolflin Village. She had a zest for life and loved her friends, her church and music.

She had been a member of Amarillo Art Center, Amarillo Symphony and Symphony Guild, Tascosa Country Club, YWCA and Les Meres Club. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, which she loved.

She resided the past three years at Bivins Memorial Nursing Home. Special thanks to her precious friends, Nealie Brandon and Bernice Dosier, who lovingly watched over her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Vigna, to whom she was married for 40 years, and her brother Hollis Ballew.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Boone and husband, John, of Dallas; granddaughter, Alatia Bradley of New York City; four nieces, Barbara, Janice, Annette and Lenore Ballew; two nephews, Craig and David Ballew.

The family suggests memorials be to Bivins Memorial Nursing Home Alzheimer's Unit and Assisted Living, 1001 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106; or St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1515 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX 79102.
