Memorial services for Edwin will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown.
Edwin Burns was born on October 25, 1947 in Phoenix, Arizona to John R. and Helen L. Livezey Burns. He attended school in the Marshalltown school district. Edwin loved his family and was a “people person” who seemed to know everyone. He enjoyed watching religious and western movies, as well as having a drink and smoke. Edwin also enjoyed working as a farmer.
Edwin is survived by his son, Kevin Butts; siblings: Margaret “Marge” (Arch) Weatherly of Eldora, Pat (Jerry) McHenry of Le Grand, Bobbie Sullivan (Dave Waskow) of Marshalltown, Mary (Joe) Levis of Marshalltown and Robert Burns of Nevada. He is also survived by his best friend, Gary Roll and extended family.
Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen; siblings: Mary Jeanne Burns, Jimmy Burns and Joe Burns; his grandparents; nephew, Natahia Levis and brother-in-law, Chris Sullivan.
