George Millard Van Patten passed away at his home in Clinton Mo. Feb. 8th 1938 at 3:00am. He was born near Brimfield IL Peoria County. March 10th, 1866. At the time of his death he was 71yrs 10 months 17 days old. He was married to Cora Etta Deal Oryall Nov 14th 1893, at York NE

To this union was born six children, two boys and one girl preceded him in death. The other children are: Mrs. Viola Jennings, Collins,Mo., George Van Patten, Cooksville Mo. Mrs. Isabella Dodson, Clinton Mo. Also 10 grandchildren. He also leaves a loving companion, two sisters and three brothers, a host of friends to mourn his passing. Mr. Van Patten had been in ailing health for some time yet the end came unexpectedly.

He lived in or near Collins for a number of years before moving to Clinton. where he had many neighbors and friends who will be sad at his passing. He had a kind and cheerful disposition and was a friend to all and always had a smile and a friendly greeting for all.

A place is vacant in our home, that never can be filled"

The funeral was conducted at the United Brethen Church by the pastor Rev.Manion.

The body was tenderly laid to rest in Robinson Cemetery, Collins Mo.
