He served in the Air Force for four years as a jet engine mechanic, where he worked on B-47s and later as a crew chief in Little Rock, Arkansas. After his service he opened an automotive machine shop, Universal Motor Exchange, where he rebuilt motors and transmissions. He was an avid sailor, had a passion for machine work, loved repairing industrial equipment, built several personal family homes, enjoyed trips to Hawaii where he lived for a brief period of time before returning home to Albuquerque.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Agnes Griffin; siblings, Clarence Griffin and James Griffin.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Griffin; son, Patrick Griffin and wife, Carleen; grandchild, Elisha Lancellotti and husband, Zack; one great grandchild, Margaret Lancellotti; siblings, Bob Griffin, Nick Griffin(wife Kay), Mary Agnes Hoagland, Kathryn Fayle (husband Ray), Teresa Griffin and numerous other friends and relatives.
