BUDDIE BON SOLOMON, 92, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, June 24, 2007 in Lawton.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Buddie was born February 2, 1915 in Vanoss, Oklahoma, to David Vernon and Fannie Cross Solomon. He attended school at Four Mile. He joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
He was married to Maggie Mae Cast for 42 years. They later divorced and he married Ann Cleo Henry on Feb. 15, 1996 in Marlow. She preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2003.
He lived in Marlow over 20 years and then moved to Duncan for 20 years. For the last year, he lived in the Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Center. Buddie retired in the late 1970's from John Deere as a mechanic. He was also a farmer. He enjoyed playing dominoes, bingo, working in the garden and fishing. He also enjoyed chasing women and he was a big flirt with the nurses. Buddie also found pleasure picking on his great-grandchildren. He was baptized at the Bailey Community Church.
Survivors include three sons, Gene Solomon and wife Mary, and Billy Solomon and wife Kathy, all of Marlow, and Joe Solomon of Meridian; a daughter, Wanda Moore and Claude Montgomery of Duncan; ten grand-children; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Vernon and Rita Solomon of Hobbs, N.M., and Amos and Thelma Solomon of Edmond; four sisters, Mildred and Gene Simons of Newcastle, Jewel Bibles and Opal Adams, both of Hobbs, and Leona Hartgraves of Mineral Wells, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Helen Solomon of Hobbs.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Darrell Wayne Solomon; brothers, Roy Solomon, Spencer Solomon, Charlie Solomon, Preston Solomon; and a sister, Dollie Solomon.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Solomon, Rodney Solomon, Michael Solomon, Brian Bearce, Bubba Bearce, Michael Moore, David Solomon, Tammy Zimmerman, Robin Sheers and Christie Moore.
