She was born on May 1, 1955, in Philippi, WV, the daughter of the late Franklin Delano and Juanita Mae (McDonald) Thorne. In 1972, Brenda married Alonzo “AJ” Junior Carr, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2019.
Mrs. Carr attended Belington Junior High School and was a Christian by Faith. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Carr is survived by: a son, Duane Carr (Tiffany) of Maysville, WV; 2 sisters, (twin) Patricia Thorne Cutlip (Kenny) of Petersburg, WV, Evelyn Thorne Johns (Corey) of Arkansas; 2 brothers, David Thorne (Patty) of Belington, WV, Ray Thorne of Philippi, WV; 4 grandchildren, Lonnie, Donnie, Kayda, and Frankie Carr.
Mrs. Carr's family received friends on Thursday, June 20, 2019, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lynn Durbin officiating.
Burial was made in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.
